Dr. Arnold Adimabua OJUGO is a Professor of Computer Science with interests in Intelligent Systems with Data Science, CyberSecurity and Graph Networks. He was the Head, Department of Computer Science at The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun, Delta State. He was appointed Head of the Department of Computer Science from 2020 – 2023 to oversee her administration, ensure productivity, institutionalize reforms, transparency, and accountability – feats required to meet the focal goals of this great citadel, poised in the Oil and Gas. He has served in various committees of the Universities, in various capacities, and under several Vice Chancellors. He is a member of these bodies namely: The Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), Registration Council of Computer Professions in Nigeria (CPN), International Association of Engineers and Computer Scientists (IAENG) to mention a few.
His role as an Academic/Researcher with over 16 years in Tertiary Education has positioned him to proffer solutions to local societal demands that will contribute more equitably on a sustained global scale. His reforms as the Maiden Dean of the College of Computing as well as his time as Head of the Department – instilled/equipped graduates (under his mentorship) to become more recognized as civic, entrepreneurial, innovative, flagship, and globally competitive that engage both at a local and global level. With knowledge transference, he is well apprised of the complexities, dynamism, and global nature of the current context that research brings to the local and global society; Thus, he has set in motion among undergraduates – the need for knowledge network to position these students with the capabilities to share joint challenges; Rather than act in autonomy to resolve questions that are in themselves interdependent – no matter how complex and dynamic.
He is a humanitarian and has served in various capacities in Rotary Club International. He is the Past President of Rotary Club of Asaba Gateway (2020-2021) under the Past District Governor, Virginia Major. He has also received various awards for such humanitarian awards. This role has afforded him the opportunity to serve and impact his immediate community in the seven (7) focal areas with various programmes and events in (a) Peace and conflict prevention cum resolution, (b) disease prevention and treatment, (c) water and sanitation, (d) maternal and child health, (e) basic education and literacy, (f) economic and community development, and (g) environment.
Arnold Adimabua OJUGO is a graduate of Computer Science from the Imo State University Owerri were he obtained his Bachelors in 2000, The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka were he obtained his Masters Degree in 2005, and an Exchange Doctoral Student between University of Essex, Colchester and the Ebonyi State University Abakiliki were he obtained his Doctoral Degrees respectively – all in the field of Computer Science with special interests in Intelligent Systems and CyberSecurity.
Prof. Arnold Adimabua Ojugo has a great flair for creative writing and scholarly articles/publications in peer-reviewed and referred journals; Most of which are indexed in high-impact databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Clarivate and Thomson Reuters. Prof. A.A. Ojugo is married to Nkem Theresa Ojugo – and union has Six (6) Children namely: Gregory Ifechukwude, Easterbell Chibuzor, Emmanuel Onyekachukwu, Eric Chukwuka, Elena Chidera, and Elizabeth Chimamanda.
