Baki Hazer received his chemical engineer M.S. and B.S. degrees University of Istanbul, in 1972 and his PhD degree from Karadeniz Technical University, in 1978. He received the Royal Society of Chemistry and TÜBİTAK joint research grant at the Liverpool. He received the NATO Collaborative Research Grant at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1995–1997, and He was Fulbright Visiting Professor at the same department in 1992–1993. He was a Visiting Scientist at The University of Akron in 2007. He had a science prize from Bülent Ecevit University Senate (2015) and an honorary membership by the Turkish Chemical Society (2005). He obtained ZOKEV science prize in Zonguldak in 2023. He is a Member of the Turkish Chemical Society. He took place in the Editorial Boards of FOODS, Hacettepe Journal of Biology, Higher Education Science Journal, AsianJApplChemRes, Pollution, Bioremediation & Biodegradation Journal (PBBJ). He is specialized in soybean oil polymers, active packaging polymers, nanocomposite synthesis, bacterial polyesters, block and graft copolymers, amphiphilic polymers, controlled living polymerization, and thermoresponsive polymers. He moved to Kapadokya University after retired in 2017. He still works in research laboratories in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University as a visiting research scientist.
