Dr. Purushottam Arvind Petare is an Associate Professor at the School of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) at Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, Pune, Maharashtra, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Commerce & Management and has additional qualifications including NET in Management, SET in Commerce, an MBA in Finance & IT, and an M.Com in Advanced Accountancy.
Dr. Petare has completed over 100 MOOCs and certifications from prestigious platforms such as NPTEL, SWAYAM, IITs, and IIMs. He was recognized as an NPTEL Enthusiast by IIT Bombay in December 2019 for his dedication to educational excellence. Additionally, he secured an A+ rating (85% and above) in the UGC Approved Professional Development Programme on the Implementation of NEP 2020 for University & College Teachers held by Indira Gandhi National Open University in September 2022. In 2018, he was honored with the “Outstanding Academic Award” by Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur, for his exceptional performance in teaching, pedagogy, research, and contribution to his department and university.
Dr. Petare has authored over 30 research articles in esteemed, indexed, and peer-reviewed journals, including those listed in Scopus and UGC CARE. His scholarly achievements also encompass five Indian publication patents and five book chapters. Notably, he has authored two books in the fields of commerce and management. His contributions to academia extend to serving on the editorial boards of several UGC-approved international journals and being an active member of numerous global professional associations.
In his academic role, Dr. Petare was the Incharge Head of the School of Commerce, a Ph.D. guide, and the Programme Coordinator for BBA in Aviation Services & Air Cargo. He also holds several key administrative roles, including DRC member, Academic Planning & Monitoring Committee member, Admission Coordinator, Moodle (LMS) Coordinator, MOOC Coordinator, and ERP Coordinator. His responsibilities in examinations include being a member of the Exam Paper Scrutiny Committee, Squad, Senior Supervisor, Junior Supervisor, Paper Setter, and Evaluator/Moderator.
